Rising Demand for Semi-Automatic Balers at CK International
Here at CK International, we have seen a significant increase in demand for semi-automatic balers. The makeup of waste streams changed drastically in 2020, altering the way companies process waste.
Many businesses have discovered that semi-automatic balers provide the ideal solution for reducing labour costs while increasing commodity values.
Customer Insights
Andrew Smith, UK Sales Manager at CK International, comments, “Over the past year, we noticed many customers upgrading their waste compaction equipment. This trend is most notable in the e-commerce and food manufacturing sectors, where waste volumes increased significantly. Semi-automatic balers have become the preferred choice.”
He continues, “We listen carefully to our customers and understand their challenges. We provide bespoke solutions to reduce labour costs, improve commodity values, or accommodate smaller footprints. From conveyance to bin tipping, our design team develops solutions tailored to each client’s needs.”

Recent Projects
We have supported a range of clients, including waste management companies, e-commerce retailers, food manufacturers, and the NHS. For example, a global food manufacturer upgraded from a vertical baler to a CK 450HFE semi-automatic baler with a bin tipping mechanism and safety cage. This upgrade reduced labour and increased the commodity value of baled materials.
Our Range of Semi-Automatic Balers
CK International offers one of the most extensive semi-automatic baler ranges on the market, with nine models catering to all material types. These balers compress waste against a fixed surface, often producing higher bale density than channel balers. They can process up to 3 tonnes of material per hour. Our product range is split into three series to suit various operational needs.
