Portadown, N Ireland
Material
Dry Mixed Recyclbales
Model
CKTR82-37T-74kW
The Challenge
ABC Waste Management needed to handle a variety of recyclables, including cardboard, paper, plastics, and PP bags, more efficiently. Their existing setup limited bale density and slowed processing, making it harder to optimise space and reduce operational costs.
01
Initially, ABC Waste Management grappled with challenges tied to an outdated semi-automatic baler and inefficient waste processing. These limitations led to operational bottlenecks, resulting in increased labor costs and longer processing times.
02
Inefficient waste compaction led to storage challenges, taking up valuable space that could otherwise be dedicated to core operations. By enhancing storage efficiency, ABC can now retain bales for longer periods, allowing them to capitalise on higher market prices and ultimately improve their ROI.

The Solution
01
Enhanced Efficiency with High Performance Compactions
Following consultancy advice to purchase the TR82 twin ram baler, the client gained exceptional compaction power, enabling them to process a wide range of waste materials with ease. Efficiently managing these diverse waste streams was made possible by selecting the right baler to meet the site’s specific needs.
02
Increased Throughput for Scalable Growth
With a capacity of up to 5 tonnes per hour and bale weights of up to 660 kg, the TR82 enables ABC to increase payloads, thereby reducing transport costs. This improved throughput supports ABC’s expansion plans, allowing them to manage higher waste volumes without sacrificing performance.
03
High Compaction for Optimal
The TR82-80t-37kw’s high compaction power enables ABC to maximize their on-site storage capacity. By compressing waste effectively, ABC can store more bales on-site before recycling or disposal, reducing the frequency of transport and lowering associated costs. The baler’s automation further minimizes manual oversight, translating to lower labor costs and more efficient operations.
04
Efficient and Cost Savings
By compressing waste directly onto a conveyor, the baler’s automated system reduces the need for manual oversight, resulting in lower labor costs and more efficient operations.
The Benefits
Higher Throughput
One of the customer’s key requirements in this project was to have improved throughputs. The throughput of 6T/hr has been achieved as promised.
Real Time Baler Management
Cloud-based CK Baler Performance Monitoring system enables the team to switch baled materials with just the push of a button. Additionally, the system allows site managers to track daily, monthly, or annual bale production, view detailed breakdowns of material types, and monitor any machine downtime. All data is accessible via a web browser or mobile device, providing real-time insights and flexibility in managing the baling process.
Optimised Loads for Transport
Due to improved bale weights and densities the customer can better optimise their loads for transport.
Versatility to Bale all Materials on site
These Twin Ram machines allow for the changeover of materials easily without any contamination.
